Since the 8th century the famous Aleppo soap has been handmade. The Crusaders brought it to Europe. Since then, the manufacturing process has not changed and made the Northern Syrian city of Aleppo (Halep, now massively destroyed in the course of the war) world-famous for its special quality of olive oil laurel soaps. 

For the production of Aleppo soap all natural products such as olive oil (70%), laurel oil (8/12%), soda and water are used. The soda mixed with olive oil is heated in large kettles and stirred slowly. Finally, the laurel oil is added and washed with water until the soap is alkali-free. After cooling, the soap mass is spread on soil, cut by hand into cubes, provided with a seal and stored 6-9 months until it is fully matured. This pure natural soap is an ideal bodycare product for skin and hair and can also be used as a shaving soap. The oil contained protects the skin from drying by refatting, supports regeneration and provides them especially with vitamin E and minerals. Regular use supports the treatment of neurodermatitis and many other skin problems. It is suitable for sensitive skin, as it does not destroy the acid mantle and works antiseptic due to the laurel oil. The low foam development makes Aleppo soap very economical.
